About David Chorney NEW HAVEN, CT

A longtime resident of Connecticut who was born in New Haven, David Chorney is an experienced financial professional and successful business leader. He actively works to support New Haven’s economic development and to help the underprivileged.

After graduating from James Hillhouse High School, Chorney attended the University of New Haven. He graduated in 1980 with a degree in Communications and found a job with V.A.R. Productions in Teaneck, New Jersey. As a Production Assistant, he accumulated the skills and knowledge necessary to open his own production companies in 1985. He specialized in developing corporate videos with David Chorney Productions, and focused on filming weddings, bar mitzvahs, and other important events with Magic Moments Video.

In 1990, David Chorney began his career as a Financial Planner, working at Creative Financial Planning and the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company in New York. In 1995, Chorney joined Polaris Financial Services, where he worked as an employee and also managed his own independent book of business. In 1997, Chorney founded Financial Concepts Unlimited in Branford, Connecticut.

David Chorney participates in many community activities in New Haven. He supports the city’s soup kitchen and works with community groups that partner with businesses and residents to boost the economic development of historic Westville Village. Every Monday, Chorney volunteers with the Jewish Coalition for Literacy, where he spends time reading with children. In addition to his volunteer work, he enjoys biking, camping, and other outdoor activities. An active artist and photographer, he sells his artwork online at http://www.etsy.com/shop/botododesigns.
